Ace Ventura Jr. has been cast

Just about a year ago we told you about a new movie project called Ace Ventura Jr. Try as they might to destroy all of Jim Carrey's early hits with junky prequels, it seems this movie is pushing forward.

Josh Flitter has been cast by Morgan Creek as the young son of Ace. Flitter is a young face you probably know but a name you don't -- yet. He has appeared several supporting roles like in the comedies Nancy Drew and License to Wed. He pretty much stole the show as the young caddie in The Greatest Game Ever Played.

David Mickey Evans is set to direct the thing. Evans is no stranger to movies starring kids as he helmed the underappreciated The Sandlot.

Pen in as being firmly undecided on the prognosis for this movie. While the casting of Flitter shows promise, I just can't forget the abysmal Son of The Mask and Dumb and Dumberer.

Can anyone successfully follow in Jim Carrey's clown shoe-sized footsteps?
