Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino didn't release a movie in 2011, but that didn't stop him from sharing his opinion on what was great (and not so great) at theaters last year. You might recall that last year's list caused a bit of a stir as Tarantino has particular likes and sticks to his guns.

Well, 2012 still has that new car smell and even through Tarantino is in the middle of filming Django Unchained, he stopped by his unofficial top fan site to share his thoughts on the year that was in film. Beyond the normal "Best of" list, Quentin added a few other categories such as "Others he liked," "Nice Try" and a quickly removed "Worst Films" list.

While I'm not sure what constitutes a "Nice Try" and if it's an honor to be on that list or not, I do know that Quentin will always do things his own way. I have to agree with Tarantino with most of his list, at least the ones that I saw this year.

  1. Midnight in Paris
  2. Rise of the Planet of the Apes
  3. Moneyball
  4. The Skin I Live In
  5. X-Men: First Class
  6. Young Adult
  7. Attack the Block
  8. Red State
  9. Warrior
  10. The Artist/Our Idiot Brother (tie)
  11. The Three Musketeers

Like last year and his selection of Toy Story 3 as top movie of 2010, I'm pretty floored with his pick of Midnight in Paris as his favorite film of 2011. I just didn't think he'd be a big Woody Allen fan, but I have to agree that it's a pretty great film.

What do you think?
